Some of the best exercising is
combining cardio and strength elements
in, for example, an interval workout. Alternatively, do cardio one day
and strength the next day so that you
get both types of exercise. A
healthy, fit body comes from varied, frequent exercise. You don't have
to be a tri-athlete to be in good shape; moderate daily exercise will
suffice.
As you become more familiar with the various designations that refer to
different types of exercise, don't get too hung up on the
technicalities of what should (theoretically) burn fat and what won't.
The bottom line of exercise is to burn more calories than you eat in a
day and to keep your muscles toned (not taut). Lastly, don't forget
that your heart is a crucial muscle.
You don't have to do a workout equivalent to boot camp to call it
exercise; a moderate daily workout will do the trick. What's more, a
plan you can stick with is much more effective than one that is so
difficult that you only do it once or twice before throwing in the
towel. Exercise can be fun and healthy if you choose the right form and
intensity of exercise for yourself.
